Full Sail University

For my tension cue, I decided to attempt a holiday dramedy. I basically went with a hip hop vibe and then made the track with orchestral instruments, being sure to include jingle bells and a celeste and crotales to provide that Christmas feel. To keep it dreamed, I use short staccatos in the woodwinds and brass and pizzicatos in the strings. I did however lean away from the hiphop genre slightly, I think that the instrumentation contributes to this. I feel like if I replaced a lot of the sounds with more modern synths and cutback or reduced about half of the extra frills from the orchestra, it would sound more like a hiphop dramedy. Lesson learned. 

I do feel like the track is fun. In my mind I imagined a holiday episode of a drama reality show where the husband sneaks down the stairs on Christmas Eve to play Santa and place presents under the tree while his wife was about to get caught getting a little to cozy with some cocoa and with one of the elves (or her brother in law) and they're hashing out what really happened. I'm pretty sure this is a real scenario from SOME reality show, somewhere.
